The present continuous tense is used when the actions or events are continuing in the present which is not finished. It’s called also present Progressive tense. Definition
This Present Continuous Tense is used to refer to indicate an action, event or condition that are continuing in the present which is unfinished.
For example, He is writing a letter.
She is cooking vegetables.
They are playing cricket.
From the above examples, we see that all the work are continuing at present.

The rules of making negative, interrogative and negative interrogative from present continuous tense

Use of Present Continuous Tense
- To understand the future Tense we use present continuous (progressive) tense.
For example, She is leaving tomorrow.
N.B.: Without come & go verb we must mention the future time.
- Some work that starts in the past but till the work is continuing in this case we use present continuous tense.
Example: She is working for the program.
- To understand the changing situation we use this tense.
For example, The population of Bangladesh increasing rapidly day by day.
- To understand the present time like This year, Today, This session, etc. we use present Progressive tense.
For example: Often she goes to medical by car but today she is going by bus.
